Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority

The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) and the NUBIKI Nuclear Safety Research Institute signed a Cooperation Agreement on 9th October, 2009 inthe area of “scientific and technical activity supporting the work of the nuclear safety authority”. In the framework of this Agreement NUBIKI as a Technical Support Organisation provides for services of well-trained and independent experts in specific technical areas to express opinions and make reviews regarding nuclear safety issues that may arise during regulatory activities. These specific areas are:3

• Thermal hydraulics (thermodynamics, hydrodynamics),
• Material science (risk-informed inspection programmes),
• Coolant chemistry (processes of corrosion, activity transport),
• Human factors (humanreliability).

The agreement was signed as open-ended.

MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd.

On 09.02.2011 the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. (as Customer), the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Centre for Energy Research (as Contractor) and the NUBIKI Nuclear Safety Research Institute Ltd. (as Joint Contractor) renewed and signed a contract for years 2011-2015 to provide for the services of the Main Consultant Partner of the plant.
The areas of technical services to be provided by NUBIKI are:

• termohidraulika (biztonsági elemzések),
• Thermal hydraulics,
• Containment behaviour,
• Severe accident mitigation,
• System analyses,
• Probabilistic safety assessment,
• Assessment of human factors.
